SAFIS 2026’s commitment to “Giving Back to the Community” extends beyond the summit itself.
As a platform that brings together stakeholders across funeral services, insurance, administration, payments, compliance, and technology, SAFIS recognises that the funeral industry carries a broader responsibility to contribute meaningfully to the communities it serves.
In line with this year’s theme, a portion of SAFIS 2026 ticket proceeds will contribute toward community-focused initiatives and organisations creating measurable social impact. Supporting purpose driven organisations forms part of SAFIS’ broader vision of fostering a more connected, responsible, and sustainable industry ecosystem. SAFIS 2026 is proud to support Finding Thabo as the official charity partner for this year’s summit.
“Insuring Tomorrow”
Building Brighter Futures, One Child at a Time
When you attend the SAFIS Funeral Summit, you are not only investing in your industry, you’re helping shape the future of young children across Southern Africa.
Let’s help insure the future of SA’s children together
Real change happens when industries and communities come together.
By supporting the Finding Thabo early learning programme, you are helping ensure that every child — regardless of where they are born — has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.
Why This Matters
- They have not had access to quality learning materials.
- Their teachers are under-resourced and under-skilled.
- They are developmentally behind in language and maths.
- Their socio-emotional and executive function skills are underdeveloped.
Without the right support in these early years, children struggle to catch up, and the systemic knock on effect results in poor academic performance and ultimately leads to few economic prospects.
Our Response: Finding Thabo
Finding Thabo is a joyful, play-based early learning programme designed to give young children the best possible start.
Through colourful, search-and-find picture worlds, children learn to think, imagine, speak and solve problems — all through play.
It is simple, engaging and powerful:
- Easy to use for teachers and caregivers
- Designed to build literacy, numeracy and confidence.
- Durable enough to last for years in classrooms
- Highly affordable at scale.
Finding Thabo doesn’t just teach children — it supports the adults who guide them.
The People Behind the Work
Finding Thabo is developed by The Reach Trust, a South African ‘tech-for-good” nonprofit dedicated to improving early childhood development.
We work alongside early learning experts, educators, caregivers and communities to create practical, evidence-based solutions that help children thrive — especially where resources are limited.
The Impact So Far
Together, we have already:
- Reached over 300,000 children
- Trained more than 13,000+ educators.
- Worked across all 9 provinces in South Africa
- Expanded into 11 regions in Botswana
- Achieved a 97% international pedagogical quality rating
And we are just getting started.
Finding Thabo doesn’t just teach children — it supports the adults who guide them.
